UFOs

The Real Edward Wells and I were greeted one night by extraterrestrials from another world. Is what we told everyone.

The Truth is a different story. One night, Edward and I could find no other members of the Friday favourites, so we had a blistering 20 tins of the Irish Lager Harp to lose brain cells with. We found ourselves in location exclusively reserved for couples who have no other place to share bodily fluids other than the back seats of their cars.

Old Cardiff Road.

Now for some reason, Old Cardiff Road was void of cheating spouse’ and young love, sharing each others bodies, so fo one night only, it would be occupied by two young drinkers. It did rain a little that night which made my cigarettes wet, my matches melted and we were pretty damp, yet for some reason we remained outside.

We talked, we laughed, we probably got a bit emotional, but all in the night was going well until a peculiar thing happened. A low rumbling in the distance grew to a deafening roar. We turned to the impending sound and above us, a small prop plane took over the sky, flying so low we could see the undercarriage. I turned to The Real Edward Wells to swear and utter my disbelief, when our world would change forever. A small star was moving over his head. The small star grew to the size of 5 small stars and then moved across the sky. We watched it disappear behind a hill called the caira and reappear the other side. And then the events unfolding before us escalated. A helicopter, one can only assume military, most likely armed fully laden with hellfires and ammunition, took chase of the light. The light, now aware of the helicopter accelerated and the two disappeared in an encounter worthy of Mulder and Scully. Needless to say, we have not embellished this story. Much. I often wonder what would have happened had that helicopter not arrived. Myself and The Real Edward Wells may now be sipping green cocktails on a planet circling Sirius B, who knows.
